THE NEW TESTAMENT
The New Testament is the second part of the Bible and consists of a collection of books and letters written after the death of Jesus.
In the New Testament, one can find a lot of information about the life of Jesus, his action on earth, his evangelization and his teachings.
While Christians share the Old Testament with the Jews, the New Testament is exclusively Christian.
The New Testament is made up of 27 books, corresponding to the Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, the Epistles and the last chapter called Revelation.
The word “Testament” comes from the Hebrew “Berith” which means Covenant, Covenant and refers to the Covenant between God and human beings.
LOUIS SEGOND VERSION
The Louis Segond Bible is the most widely used Bible by Protestant Christian churches.
Louis Segond, born October 3, 1810 in Geneva, was a Swiss pastor and theologian who, at the request of the Compagnie des Pasteurs de Genève, translated the Bible into French from the original Hebrew and Greek texts.
The translation of the Old Testament was published in 1874 and the New Testament in 1880. This version is usually called the "Bible Segond" and it will become the reference within French Protestantism.
